Flowers have been linked with romance and fertility since time immemorial. They lend grace and elegance to any setting but they’re especially central to weddings.
Once the Bride has chosen her wedding dress, she’s then in a position to plan lots of the other fun things about her wedding, because she now knows her theme colours. One of the decisions to be made is what flowers to have for the bouquets and for the decorations at the ceremony and probably also at the reception.
At the newsagent’s, you’ll find a range of wedding flower magazines to help with your flower planning. Often the Bride has a favourite flower variety. Probably the most usual favourites are Lilies and Roses but many brides have their hearts set on Frangipani, Calla Lilies or Tulips which are only available in season and then some weeks only in a limited range of colours.
If there’s a flower which has such major significance for you that you absolutely cannot be married without it in your bouquet, then you need to schedule your wedding around its availability because flowers are a natural product which are just not available to the floral designer out of season unless the Bride is prepared to accept the silk version.
As a wedding planner, I often advise brides to specify a colour scheme and a preferred flower variety yet to be willing to trust the floral designer to substitute in the event that the chosen flower in that colour is simply not available the week of the wedding.
After the theme colours and the preferred flower variety/ies, you need to decide which bouquet style you prefer. Most brides choose the posy style bouquet but sometimes girls will have posy style bouquets for their bridesmaids and the trail bouquet style for themselves.
Noosa Wedding Ring floral designer Chris Evans of the Ultimate Florist is very creative in the modern approach she takes to producing wedding bouquets which are truly a thing of beauty.
Some girls decide, after the wedding, to have all or part of their bouquets preserved . But the flowers need to be stored in optimum conditions straight after the wedding and handed over to the experts the next day for this to be worth the not inconsiderable costs involved. Check with a professional if this option appeals to you.
At the wedding ceremony in the Casuarina Grove, Celebrant Hari Scholes CMC officiated and photographer Andrej of Artisan Photography and videographer Wayne of Noosa Video Productions enjoyed recording the couple’s happiness and Carole’s stunning dress plus beautiful Oriental Lily posy created by Chris of the Ultimate Florist.
ABIA award winning Wedding Planner Glenda McCallum reported that this was another very happy Noosa Wedding Ring wedding. Our congratulations to Carole and Jason!
Noosa Wedding RingWedding Planner Glenda McCallum helped Queenie and Simon plan their Noosa beach wedding using our Sand Between Your Toes Wedding Package draft. The girls travelled out to Sandy Island where the Ceremony was to take place by gondola and, after the beach photoshoot, the newlyweds and their guests cruised the beautiful Noosa River to their reception at the Noosa Boathouse Restaurant.
Queenie and Simon said, ‘We were so delighted we chose Noosa Wedding Ring to co-ordinate our very special day. Glenda, my coordinator, was very reliable, efficient, helpful and friendly which made all the planning smooth sailing. Glenda’s experience and professionalism really shone through with providing the very best service and suppliers to make our day absolutely magical!‘
So Very Feminine and De La Bertauché were in charge in the Hair and Beauty department and the Ultimate Florist created the stunning bouquets of Calla Lilies. Queenie also chose to carry the Calla Lily theme through to her wedding cake and the decorations at her Boathouse reception which were very capably handled by Uniquely You Noosa.
The other members of Queenie and Simon’s Noosa Wedding Ring team were Celebrant Tim Goessling CMC who officiated on Sandy Island, Craig of Brock Photography Noosa who starred behind the lens and Noosa VIP Limousines who added their usual touch of glamour to the occasion.
Queenie and Simon’s wedding was followed by a very happy celebration at the Boathouse and a long honeymoon.
